INM FMA PAST PUPILS FEDERATION MEET – 03.08.2024

 ST. JOSEPH’S CONVENT, ARNI

To reconnect Alumni with each other, with the alumni of other FMA INM educational institutions, to reconfirm the bonding with their Alma Mater, to relive the Salaesian spirituality and to recreate loving relationship with the Salesian family of FINM MA, the Past Pupils INM FMA Federation had organised the Alumni Meet on 3rd August 2024 at St Joseph’s Matric Higher Secondary School, Arni for the 12 Local Units of the Province. Responding to the invitation of the Province’s Past Pupils Delegates; Sr.Francis Jeyamani and Sr.Cherayath Annarani, around 87 Past Pupils attended the Alumni Meet. St.Joseph’s Convent, Arni hosted the meet. The Past Pupils with their delegate sisters registered their name, mobile number (WhatsApp) and email ID around 9.00 am.

The event started with a prayer service animated by the Past Pupils of St.Mary’s, Vellore and welcome address by the Unit of Auxilium Home, Katpadi. Rev. Sr. Ambrose Arockia Jayaceli, the Councillor of the Salesian family, INM and Rev. Sr. Kanickaraj Tamizharasi, Animator of St Joseph’s Convent, Arni were the chief guests and Rev. Fr. Balasingam, SDB, from St Joseph’s home, Katpadi was the resource person. The guests were honoured with shawl, gift and  a tree sapling.

Rev.Sr.Francis Jeyamani, welcomed the Past pupils delegate sisters and appreciated the presence of each alumni member. Sr. Kanickaraj Tamizharasi, in her introductory talk stressed the importance of “synodal journey of walking together, living together in communion, participating together in the common mission as a salesian family. She also shared about the challenges of synodal journey, the 3 I’s; Ignorance, Indifference and Individualism and the three ways to strengthen the synodal journey that are 3 C’s; Concern, Cooperation and Collaboration and Communion.

 Then Rev. Sr.Ambrose Jayaceli, the councillor for Salesian family delivered her speech on “ECO-CONSCIOUSNESS” and also introduced her book ‘Pasumai Pengal’ – Women of Green Movements, the remarkable steps taken by the women to promote eco consciousness in their living places. She explained the better ways to preserve nature. In her discussion with the participants, she made it sure to place on their suggestions and concrete action plans to preserve  nature.

In the first session, Rev. Fr. Balasingam, SDB, the resource person for that day’s meet, actively presented the famous nine year old “Dreams of Don Bosco”. He did insist how that dream became the cause, reason, motivating factor and a driving force for Don Bosco to venture into the mission of serving the young people to have life.  He also presented the lives of the well known persons whose dreams too achieved greater things for the good of the people and society as a whole. He concluded his session by motivating and encouraging the past pupils to dream like Don Bosco , to follow and become the lover of Don Bosco’s dreams to dream higher for one’s life and others around. In his second session, Rev. Fr. Balasingam, in short, he explained about the Jubilee Year 2025 and its preparatory theme, “Pilgrims of Hope”.

After a short break and the photo session, the group discussion started on the two topics;

1. How to strengthen the past pupils federation?

2. To present the concrete action plans to be carried in the local past pupils units and in the INM FMA Pupils federation to be recognized by the society.

In the common assembly, the secretaries ofeEach unit past pupils presented their suggestions and concrete plants and Sr.Cherayath Annarani coordinated the session.

Mr. Hari S, the Vice President of FMA INM Past Pupils Federation asked the past pupils for their active participation and to stay connected with the Salesian family. He made a request to contribute their best for the Wayanadu(Kerala) people who were affected by the great tragedy of land slide.  Then Sr. Jeyamani, presented the plan and project of 2024-2025 and the plan of the Past Pupil’s federation to prepare directory of resourceful Past Pupils. She explained about the Google Sheet that is aimed at identifying the Past Pupils who are specialized in different fields and to create a FMA INM Past Pupils directory.

The INM FMA Alumni Meet came to an end with the vote of thanks by St. Joseph’s Girls Higher Secondary School, Arni. Everyone was recognized for their presence, were thanked and appreciated  for responding to the invitation for the meet. A heartfelt gratitude to our Provincial Sr.Devadoss Margaret, Rev. Sr. Amborse Jayaceli, the councillor for Slaesian Family, the delegate sisters of all units, the office bearers of the Federation for being a driving force to carry out the activities of the federations to a higher level.  We extend a sincere thanks to Sr.Tamizharasi and the community for their loving contribution especially for the sumptuous meal for the success of this meet.
